INTAN JAYA - The Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) continue to demonstrate their commitment to fostering harmony and accelerating development in Papua. On Monday, 13 January 2025, the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, operating under the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, carried out a meaningful Social Communication (Komsos) initiative with residents of Mindau Village, Sugapa District, Papua Tengah Province.
Led by First Lieutenant M. Fardhana, the 509 Patrol Team utilized their security operations to connect with the Mindau community. This interaction allowed the Soldiers to gain insight into the security conditions and daily challenges faced by the villagers. The mission was conducted under the directive of Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, Commander of the 509 Task Forces, who emphasized the importance of addressing the fundamental needs of the community.
The Soldiers not only ensured the area’s safety but also strengthened community relations by distributing essential food supplies. This gesture was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from the residents. Mr. Rio Mujizau, a local villager, expressed his gratitude, saying, *"Praise God, thank you, Commander 509. God bless."*
Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA, praised the 509 Task Forces for their proactive and inclusive approach. *“The 509 Task Forces' initiative reflects TNI's unwavering commitment to fostering unity and accelerating development in Papua, ”* he said. His acknowledgment underscores the strategic importance of Social Communication in building trust and laying the groundwork for sustained regional progress.
