INTAN JAYA - The Task Forces of Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, under the operational command of TNI HABEMA, are actively securing the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border, particularly in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Monday, 27 January 2025, these dedicated Soldiers launched the “ROSITA” (Buy Up Farming Products) program, buying agricultural products directly from residents of Yalai Village, Sugapa District. This initiative was spearheaded by the Holomama Post, led by First Lieutenant Wanianto.
The ROSITA program is part of the Task Forces’ mission to support the economic welfare of local communities while fulfilling their security duties. Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, stated that assisting the local population is a vital component of their mandate. He emphasized the importance of combining territorial duties with meaningful efforts to improve the lives of the people in their operational areas.
On Tuesday morning, the Soldiers set an inspiring example by using their own personal funds to purchase farming products, which were then used to meet their daily food needs. Through this initiative, they engaged in meaningful interactions with the residents, fostering goodwill and solidarity. Their personal sacrifices left a lasting impression on the villagers, who felt appreciated and supported.
One of the sellers, Mrs. Ria Japugau, shared her joy and gratitude after receiving a significant boost in income that morning. She remarked, "Thank you, Commander 509. God bless." Her words captured the collective sentiment of the Yalai community, who appreciated the Soldiers' efforts to uplift their economy.
The Commander of HABEMA, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, commended the 509 Task Forces for their initiative. "The ROSITA program demonstrates the TNI's unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of the local population and accelerating the development of Papua. This initiative serves as a powerful example of the TNI's dedication to fostering trust and economic growth in the region, " he said.
The ROSITA program has brought hope and optimism to the residents of Yalai Village, reinforcing the bond between the TNI and the community. This initiative highlights how small acts of compassion and solidarity can lead to profound and lasting impacts, promoting a brighter future for Papua's development.
